The watch is magical, always dreamed of a Turtle with an enamel green dial, but the misaligned of chapter ring is frustrating

San Martin produce a few ‘Turtle’, or ‘Captain Willard’ versions and this is in my opinion the best! I’ve looked at Turtles from a leading brand that cost three times as much and more, but they don’t come close to the San Martin in respect of quality of manufacture and finishing. I love the new matt black dial version that has been introduced, which I prefer it to the blue and green sunburst dials. Reliable NH35A movement completes a great watch. Well done San Martin!

Brilliant quality as usual from San Martin! Can’t fault anything on this watch. It really oozes quality. Looks so much more expensive than it actually is. I’ve paid £500+ for watches of lower quality. Not my first San Martin, and definitely not my last…….

Part one: Let's start with the not so good things first. The bracelet and the case have very light sharp edges. You don't feel them while wearing if you wear your watch nice tight and snug. But just keep this in mind. The chapter ring was slightly misaligned to the left.(watch the picture) Not worse then Seiko though :)... The crown guard and the crown are also sightly sharp and while operating the crown, for setting the date or time, it feels not very pleasant. It is an automatic so at least this doesn't have to be done so often. I mean the watch costs "just" 250 Euro but as an example my Phylida Aquaterra Homage cost me just 110 Euro and it didn't had those sharp edges. So keep this in mind too. The last thing is that the shop didn't include the vat in the purchase, all though it says so on the site and in the cart, so I had to pay 15€ extra when it arrived at me. And because of that the watch got stuck in customs for almost 2 weeks.

Excellent high quality homage to the original Seiko Captain Willard. Milled clasp, domed sapphire crystal, great movement and wears a treat. Absolutely top quality watch

Fantastic product, out of all Willard homage cases best finish. Bracelet is superb awesome brushing tapers 20mm to 16mm well done !

Everything about the watch looks and feels high quality, great bezel action, perfect alignment and I'm a big fan of the chapter ring. The sunburst dial is amazing. End links are the perfect fit and the bracelet has a strong taper which I like. Exceeded my expectations, probably better finishing than the real thing. Arrived within 10 days of purchase.
